CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Duke Energy Economic Development has launched a world-class Web site stocked with information about the Carolinas - designed for anyone who is considering relocating or expanding in the Carolinas.The Web site provides access to details about currently available properties and communities throughout North and South Carolina.
A powerful search engine, GIS technology (Geographic Information System) and analytical tools enable the user to conduct searches and compare findings. Duke Energy teamed up with the North Carolina and South Carolina State Departments of Commerce to build the data supporting the Web site. Building and site data is provided by the Departments of Commerce and is updated weekly.
Other data, such as demographic data, industry data, wage and occupation data, etc. were acquired through vendors, state and federal resources.
"Providing tools to help economic developers and site selectors make choices is key to building the competitive capabilities of our region," says Tony Almeida, Duke Energy’s vice president for economic development.
Duke Energy - through its Economic Development Team - is an active catalyst for manufacturing and other business growth in the Carolinas.
Users such as economic developers and site selection consultants can search data and download and print information for their use in reports, presentations, etc.
