SITE Selection Ranks Duke in Top Utility Companies
SITE Selection Magazine September 2005
The September issue of SITE Selection magazine reveals the “Top 10 Utility Companies of the Year” and, in the magazine’s words, achieving that ranking “is no small feat.” Duke Energy made the list. The magazine looks at four key measurements of economic development – total capital investment, investment per capita, total jobs created, and jobs created per capita. The article goes on to state “it takes innovation, hard work, attention to detail, and – above all – unparalleled customer service.” Duke Energy’s magazine profile highlights the company's strong work force training initiatives, a state-of-the-art Web site, the CAPEX Predictive Model and a long history of state and community leadership.
Companies supported by Duke in bringing new jobs to the region last year included Citigroup, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Pepsi Cola Bottling, WinCup, Ceramtec North America and TYCO Healthcare, just to name a few.
