Center for Accelerated Technology Training South Carolina

The Center for Accelerated Technology Training (CATT) is an integral part of South Carolina’s Technical College Education System. Established in 1961, CATT is one of the oldest and most experienced workforce training programs in the United States. CATT serves all areas of South Carolina with 12 Area Directors as well as curriculum development, video and printing support staff.

CATT offers the following services to new and existing businesses:

  • Workforce recruiting and testing
  • Curriculum and materials development
  • Customized training and project management

All services are provided through tax dollars at minimal or no cost to the qualifying client. CATT is one of the few programs in the nation that provides project management staff for the duration of the training project. CATT will observe your processes, review documentation, equipment and analyze skill levels as a part of the program development process to insure that specific training needs of the customer are met.

The list of CATT’s clients includes BMW, Siemens, Bosch, Bayer, Daimler-Chrysler, Pirelli, SKF, Michelin, Honda, Fuji, Kyocera Mita, Honda, Hitachi and Bridgestone-Firestone.

In 2004, more than 5,000 people went through training at the Center for Accelerated Technology Training. Since 1961, CATT has trained nearly a quarter of a million people (228,269) for new jobs with 1,781 companies.
