What is FIT?
Focused Industrial Training is a special training program for North Carolina's traditional industries. Serving primarily manufacturing clients, FIT uses individual needs assessments and consultants to design and implement targeted, customized training for organizations who need to upgrade workers' skills because of technological or process advances.

How does FIT work?
You identify training needs. FIT does a needs assessment. The community college decides the kind and number of classes needed to meet your training goals. FIT custom designs specialized training for your employees and staffs the classes with expert instructors. Low enrollment, limited to your workers (often as few as one) guarantees more personal attention.
What jobs qualify for FIT training?
FIT focuses on critical changes as technology changes. FIT's skilled and semi-skilled job training includes: material handlers, assembly, technicians, welders, machinist, maintenance mechanics, metal-workers, production line workers, woodworking, machine operators, frontline supervisors and technical leaders. These are just a few of the occupations that qualify for FIT training.
